March Vanity Trove

Posted by MsHliladventures at 3/20/2012 06:43:00 pm 0 comments
Had such a good workout at the gym, 1 hr yoga plus a 4km run. I hope I have time to continue this lifestyle once work starts. =)

After I came home, i found the March Vanity Trove package sitting on my table. Was so excited to open it as this month's trove is about whitening, which is one of my obsession.

I was even happier when I realised that the March Trove contains samples from Astalift. I first saw this brand at centrepoint and was introduced to the Jelly Aquarysta by the SA. Jelly Aquarysta contains ceramide which is extremely beneficial for dry skin as it has moisture retention ability. It is the brand's best seller and was voted the No 1 Serum in 2011. However, I came out of the shop empty handed as the jelly costs $148. So I was really delighted when I saw a sample of this in March Trove.

This was what greeted me when I opened the package!

Whee! it comes with the white shield drink as well which is a peach yoghurt flavour collagen. sounds delicious!

I also found these in the March package- Moisture foam, whitening lotion, whitening essence, whitening cream and day protector. I can pack these along for my sunny holiday in Redang next week :)

Astalift star products. Can't wait to try this out!

Last sunday, I also attended the baby contest which baby emily took part. I really love this little girl so much! She has brought us so much joy & fun.

who needs mascara when you have lashes like this?

my dress of the day.. a piece i got from HK but only wore it once. I am in an attempt to wear all pieces in my wardrobe!

My purchase from love bonito- Thistle T-Bar Wedges

I am so into suede shoes these days, dun ask me why! Think I have fallen in love with them after I first set my eyes on the suede shoes collection from Aldo. A pity Aldo's heels are always sooo high. I hope this love bonito piece will be comfortable!

Kiehl's Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque

I got a sample of this clay mask from the friendly SA at Robinson, Raffles City.I have a concern with the blackheads around my nose (as usual) and recently a few whiteheads have been popping up on my chin and cheeks. So I was very keen to find a clay mask that is able to clean my pores.

Extracted from Kiehl's website:
Our Rare Earth masque helps purify and detoxify skin while minimizing the appearance of enlarged pores. Formulated with Amazonian White Clay to gently draw out oil, dirt and toxins that can clog pores. The addition of Oatmeal and Aloe Vera will help soothe, hydrate and protect sensitive skin.

My verdict?

Scent: While many reviewers have mentioned that they do not like scent of the mask, I am quite the opposite as I like the smell of oatmeal in my mask. Feels wholesome!

Application: Just apply a thin layer, leave it on for 10 mins and wash it off with warm water. I felt a slight tingling after I applied the mask. While other reviewers have complained about the burning sensation, I felt the tingling feel was bearable and in fact I am quite happy with it as i feel it is the mask doing its work. For that 10 mins, my skin did felt abit tight though.

Aftermath: The mask is easy to wash off and I am happy to say my skin did not feel dry after using the clay mask. And my complexion became noticebly fairer! I dunno if I am imagining things but I think that the whiteheads on my chin seem less protruding and the area around the chin felt smoother.

So all in all, I am a happy user. I think a fairer verdict will be after all my blackheads are extracted after a facial and I can monitor how the regular application of this mask will clear the clogged pores and prevent the mushrooming of more blackheads/whiteheads. Am so going to get this mask, it's retailing at $45 and is rather friendly on the pocket.

Jericho Dress

Sage Suede Shorts

I have finished the following book- The Help and this is another good read for me...teared at the ending and I am now watching the movie on Funshion
From Wiki..
"The Help isabout a young white woman, Eugenia "Skeeter" Phelan, and her relationship with two black maids during Civil Rights era America (the early 1960s). Skeeter is a journalist who decides to write a controversial book from the point of view of the maids (referred to as "the help"), exposing the racism they are faced with as they work for white families."

1st weekend of March

It was a busy weekend for me! so much so that I was too lazy to go for my yoga class, has been lazing in bed reading an playing Draw Something. Its da bombz now.

On friday night, i stayed at home to try out a recipe i chanced upon from NoobCook- Coca Cola Chicken Wings. Sounds interesting right? and if you are wondering, there are no coke taste in the wings =p

On sat morning, I met Juju, Ruby & BC for brunch at Wild Honey, Scotts Square. I prefer this to the one at mandarin gallery as it is alot more spacious. As usual, I had the Tunisian Breakfast set with a cup of Mocha while the rest had the english breakfast set. I think I haven met Ruby & BC for years, we should meet up more often for brunch since we like brunches!

After which, I headed to wild wild wet with E's family and the boy. I like the way the boy takes care of baby emily! *proud grins* and the princess is so cute, as I am typing this, I am missing her already. She's really fun and notti now, such a adorable lil ms KPO. Like me, she adores hello kitty keke. BUT she calls the boy "gor gor" and calls me "tata" (Auntie in french). so unfair! hahaha

We had a Yatch adventure on Sunday evening to celebrate HP & LZ's 30th bdays. HP bought the deal through groupon at $390 and we enjoyed the yatch ride for 4 hrs (7pm-11pm).
nah this isn't our yatch, dont mean to misrepresent hehe

 Setting sail!

We docked and had a BBQ out at sea!

The lovely dessert wine that HP bought along

and the presents we got for the girls. Many more bdays to come!
